Last weekend, Astro and Digi gave Geek Events the opportunity to represent the gaming and esports community at the Influencer Festival. This gave rise to the Geek Out Zone, a gaming area which united all kinds of gaming and esports fans for 2 days of fun and engaging tournaments.
At the Geek Out Zone, we had tournaments for Free Fire, FIFA 18, Blazblue Cross Tag Battle and Mobile Legends, bringing together players and fans from 4 different gaming communities for the entire weekend. Thousands of gamers flocked to our booth in the KLCC Convention Center as the Geek Out Zone easily established itself as the biggest attraction out of the entire festival.
The Mobile Legends tournament was also particularly special as it had a unique format where pro players from Geek Fam Mobile Legends teamed up with the fans to play against each other, giving the fans the one of a kind experience of playing in a tournament alongside their favourite pro players.
Besides the tournaments, players were also able to socialize with their fellow community members in the Geek Out Zone as they played on casual gaming setups and took part in giveaways and side contests to win some awesome gear sponsored by Predator.
Besides Predator, our other sponsors: Gank, Kaibu, Charwiki also had stalls and stands in the Geek Out Zone, getting plenty of attention from the huge crowd that was filling up the gaming area throughout the weekend.
The energy of the geeks was electric all weekend, as the players and their massive audience stayed all the way past 10pm on Sunday night just to see the conclusion of every single tournament through.
