The LAN finals of the PUBG MY/SG Championship 2018 took place at Battle Arena Malaysia this past weekend, and it delivered all of the suspense, drama and excitement that the fans could’ve possibly hoped for!

Hundreds of PUBG fans came to see the event live and in person while tens of thousands more tuned in to the livestreams on the Geek Events Facebook page and Twitch channel as 20 of the best PUBG teams from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei battled it out for RM40,000 and the right to represent their country at the JIB PUBG SEA Championship happening in Bangkok at the end of this month.

Notable names from the Malaysian pro scene included Geek Fam, Quacker, MBT, Lapar Esports, Stadium Fighter and Gaventure, while Singaporean esports powerhouse Resurgence was also present and representing the Singaporean PUBG scene.

Throughout the weekend, we were treated to amazing plays from top teams and underdog rising stars alike, as young teams such as Team BAD and Genius Team shone with excellent plays on multiple occasions, proving that the Malaysian PUBG community is indeed rife with promising talents who just need more opportunities to demonstrate their skills to the world.

At the end of the competition, Geek Fam proved themselves as the worthy victors, jumping out to an 800 point lead in round 11 which allowed them to comfortably secure the championship. Quacker, Gaventure and MBT.Minumkopijap rounded out the top 4, making these 4 teams the Malaysian representatives for the JIB PUBG SEA Championship.

The PUBG MY/SG Championship 2018 was a terrific showing for the PUBG community and we can’t wait to see all of these teams at the next tournament!
